Since 2010 and making the move from London to Provence, the Cronk family has developed a range of Côtes de Provence rosé that includes a beautifully packaged gin. And it is certainly classic Provence in that it is a bone dry pink blend made from juicy grenache (60%) partnered with its traditional companion syrah.
This Mirabeau rosé also has a ripe strawberries and raspberry profile that is rolled up with some peach on the finish. It is dry, but it has plenty of ripe fruit amongst the savoury mineral palate. An easy pleaser where the medium bodied fresh fruit takes on a silky, smooth texture as it glides along the palate.
Not just for summer fun, this is ideal as an aperitif anytime of year, or pair it with tuna or a chicken breast infused with herbs. Of course, it is just as good unadorned.
Quickie review «As it says on the label, it is a classic Provence dry pink. Elegantly poised, with ripe and fresh fruit.»
