Papagiannakos Domaine Savatiano 2014

Papagiannakos-Silv-wmGrown in vineyards in the vicinity of Markopoulo in the Greek region of Attica. It has a PGI Markopoulo designation and is an indigenous grape variety from Attica from a limestone vineyard with non-irrigated 50 year old vines. According to winemaker, Vassilis Papagiannakos, it has been cultivated continuously in Attican vineyards for more than 4000 years.

So winelovers, this is what the locals drink! It is fermented in stainless steel to make sure the citrus fruit and peach dominates with some nuts to add interest. Ripe, soft juicy and intensely flavoured fruit is rounded and smoothed out with soft acid. Fresh and crisp, it makes a great companion for fresh seafood or as an aperitif or sundowner on a warm afternoon.
