Beppe! Rosato 2018

Il Palagio beppe

Beppe Rosato is one of the new generation of Italian pink hued wines. Rosato wines from Italy are starting to come of age with so many now being exported. Rosatos such as this one offer so much more than the ubiquitous and highly commercial pinot grigio blush wines from the north. This particular rosato has been blended for the summer enjoyment of one of the estate’s owners, Trudie Styler.  It carries the name of Tenuta Il Palagio’s now retired vineyard manager, Beppe. Also, it is a certified organic wine.

Beppe Rosato is a dry, very pale pink sangiovese dominant rosato, bouncing with salmon highlights. The tensile acid is also very crisp with a little sizzle and a light grip that calms with a bite to eat. The fresh cherry berry fruit has a floral lilt and spicy accent that comes from some lees contact.

Drink this pale pink while enjoying a laden antipasti platter or some calamari.. or even some chicken coated in pesto served with roasted tomatoes. Indeed, when looking for a pairing, this is a versatile style of rosato.

Quickie review «One very refreshing pink hued Tuscan that is as evocative of its home as it is of summer. »
